Major World Event in 2011

In my last post I explained how to approach predicting world events with Astro*Carto*Graphy. I also wrote that I would be featuring an example of what I expect to be a major event in 2011.

At the beginning of October 2010 I received an Email from Eduard Petcu who informed me that he had had studied the chapter in my book on mundane astroligy and found something very interesting about the forthcoming planetary influences in Korea.

After the recent events in Korea there are fears that there could soon be a war between North and South, and the research done by Eduard Petcu certainly seems to confirm this.

The Solar Eclipse on 11th July 2010 has Mars IC and Pluto DSC in the Yellow Sea which have a very powerful influence on the two Koreas. As this has an influence until the next Solar Eclipse six months later it shows what is currently taking place on the Korean Peninsula.

I have found the Mars/Pluto conjunction Astro*Carto*Graphy to be very powerful, especially when there is a repetition of themes with other A*C*G maps that are used in Mundane astrology.

On 14th December 2010, the Mars/Pluto conjunction is on the MH in Korea. This will have an influence in Korea until the next Mars/Pluto conjunction.

The Winster Solstice on 22nd December 2010 has Mars DSC passing through the North/South border to Korea and very close to Seoul. This will have an influence until the next Winter solstice one year later.

The Lunar Eclipse on 21st December 2010 has Sun DSC and Moon ASC passing through Seoul. The Sun/Moon opposotion is at 29 GEM/SAG 20 and activates Kim Jong-il's Mars at 28 SAG 49. This has an influence for six months, until the next Lunar Eclipse.

The Solar Eclipse on 4th January 2011 has Mars DSC in the Yellow Sea near to Korea. This has an influence for six months, until the next Solar Eclipse.

The 2010 Solar Return for North Korea (Data: 10th September 1948, 12.00pm - Nick Campion) has Mars ASC near to South Korea. This will be in effect until the next solar return one year later.

The repetition of themes with Mars lines would seem to suggest that a possible war between North and South Korea is likely to take place in the first half of 2011. By examining the New and Full Moons it's possible to narrow down this to a two week time range.

The New Moon for 3rd April 2011 has Mars IC and Uranus IC near the Korean Peninsula which could suggest a surprise attack by North Korea. So the first two weeks of April 2011 looks to be a time when all this Mars energy comes to a peak and manifests as outer reality.

Does the Korean War in 1950 show similarities to a possible war in 2011?

On 6th October 1949, the Mars/Pluto conjunction is on the MH in and near to Korea. This will have an influence in Korea until the next Mars/Pluto conjunction.

The Lunar Eclipse on 2nd April 1950 has Uranus IC and Mars DSC passing through South Korea. This has an influence for six months until the next Lunar Eclipse.

The New Moon on 15th June 1950 has MA DSC near to Korea. This indicates that the last two weeks of June is when the Mars energy comes to a peak and when a war is likely to start.

The Korean war started on 25th June 1950.

So history does seem to be repeating itself in 2011 with the first two weeks of April 2011 being very significant when a war between North and South Korea could possibly start.

The 2010 Solar Return for president Obama has Mars IC , Jupiter MH , Saturn IC , Uranus MH and Venus IC in or near to Korea. Countries or locations with five or more lines lines on an A*C*G map tend to be very important, so this could suggest that America will be involved in some way.

My congratulations to Eduard Petcu for the excellent work he has done to show that history looks to be repeating itself in Korea. It's very pleasing when a reader puts into practice what they have learnt from my book and does such excellent research.

Predicting World Events With AstroCartoGraphy

In my book "Where In The World With Astro*Carto*Graphy" I wrote a chapter on mundane astrology and showed how effective this is in showing where major world events are likely to take place.

When using Astro*Carto*Graphy to predict world events I use the following maps and charts.

1). Astro*Carto*Graphy map of country (or natal chart)

2). Astro*Carto*Graphy map of country's leader (or natal chart)

3). Astro*Carto*Graphy map of special event for a country (or natal chart)

When examining these Astro*Carto*Graphy maps repetition of themes is most important in trying to locate where certain planetary energies are likely to manifest.

4). Astro*Carto*Graphy map for the Mars/Pluto cycle (conjunction and opposition)

a). Locations with MA, PL and UR lines
b). Position of the MA/PL conjunction or opposition

5). Astro*Carto*Graphy map for an eclipse (solar and lunar eclipse)

a). Locations with MA, PL and UR lines
b). Position of the SU/MO conjunction or opposition

6). Astro*Carto*Graphy map for lunation

a). Repetition of themes with locations on MA/PL and eclipse maps.
b). Five or more planetary lines at a location.
c). Position of the SU/MO conjunction or opposition.

7). Astro*Carto*Graphy map for ingresses

a). Repetition of themes at locations on other maps.
b). Position of planetary lines at a location.

In the next few days I will post an example of using Astro*Carto*Graphy to predict world events. This will be what I expect to be a major event in 2011.

US Presidents and Mars Lines

Mars lines on an A*C*G map for the US President very often shows where America could become involved in a war.

The A*C*G map for president Barack Obama is near to Baghdad in Iraq which suggests that the conflict in this area is likely to continue during his term of presidency.

After the failed terrorist attack on Christmas Day on a plane approaching Detriot, the spotlight is now focused on Yemen where terrorists are trained. President Obama has Mars ASC passing through Yemen, very close to where the terrorist training camps are located. He also has C*C*G UR DSC passing through Yemen, and conjunct his A*C*G MA ASC line.

The chart for the Yemen Unification has Mars at 23 PIS 25 which is opposite Obama's Mars at 22 VIR 34. Both are activated by transit UR at 22/23 PIS.

These planetary influences indicate that the US could be become involved in a war in Yemen under sudden and unexpected circumstances which could start at any time.

More charts and maps need to be examined to obtain further information about future events in Yemen, but it certainly seems that the US president Mars lines are very significant.

New Book on Astromapping To Be Published Early Next Year

A new book called “From Here to There: An Astrologer's Guide to Astromapping” is due to be published by The Wessex Astrologer at the beginning of next year.

The book is edited by Martin Davis who started this project in March 2006. He has put this book together by using material from 13 different astrologers, so it is understandable that it has taken him over 1½ years to complete the book.

I have contributed a chapter explaining about the Astro*Carto*Graphy solar return map, but haven’t read what other astrologers have written.

This will be the follow up to Martin Davis’ previous book (“Astrolocality Astrology”). Based on this award winning book, I’m sure “From Here to There: An Astrologer's Guide to Astromapping” will be an excellent compilation on the different techniques that are used in Astrolocality.

New Website For AstroCartoGraphy

I haven't posted for quite a few months now due to leaving Munich and making a new start in life in another country. More about that in another post!

This morning I received an e-mail from Gregg Howe at Astro Numeric Service about a new discussion board that has started on Astro*Carto*Graphy. I visited this straightaway and was very impressed with what I saw, so I signed up immediately.

It's a discussion board where members can discuss anything they like about Astro*Carto*Graphy. There are also some article posted there as well.

Multi Relationship Chart ACG Map

I've started to examine Astro*Carto*Graphy maps drawn for a multi relationship chart to find out if they provide additional information about locations for a group of people.

A multi relationship chart is calculated for three or more people, using the midpoint between all the dates, times and places of birth. This chart is then used to draw an A*C*G map. It is also possible to use Cyclo*Carto*Graphy on a multi relationship A*C*G map.

The main problem in calculating a multi relationship is finding software to do this. Solar Fire is able to calculate a group composite chart, but not a multi relationship chart. The program I am using for the multi relationship chart A*C*G map is ZET 8. Using this program it is very easy to calculate and draw a multi relationship chart A*C*G map. From what I have seen it would appear that ZET 8 is the only program available that has this feature.

I will write more about the multi relationship chart map after I have done some research with them.

Tribute to Nick Strachuk

Just after Christmas I visited www.astrolog.ru and was deeply shocked to read that Nick Strachuk was tragically lost on 21st December 2006.

I first met Nick in September 1999 when I attended an astrological conference in Moscow to do a lecture on Astro*Carto*Graphy. I also did some workshops on Astro*Carto*Graphy and local space astrology before the conference started. My visit to Moscow in 1999 was such a big success that Nick invited me back again and again for other lectures and workshops. Nick was also very enthusiastic about publishing my book in Russian and told me this would be completed
within a year. Much to my amazement, Nick made arrangements for my book to be translated and published in six months.

During the eight times that I was in Moscow I got to know Nick very well and had the privilege of staying with him and his family to celebrate the end of winter festival. Nick always did everything possible to make sure that international speakers were well looked after in Moscow. I will never forget when Nick said he had a big surprise for me so that I could feel at home. This was when he took me to a “Munich” restaurant in Moscow which I didn’t know existed. I was also in Moscow when Nick’s granddaughter was born, celebrating this event with him and other astrologers.

It is thanks to Nick that I had the opportunity to visit Moscow, make many friends and see first hand how astrology is developing in Russia. Nick recognised straightaway that locational astrology would be of great interest for Russian speaking astrologers. As a result of my visits to Moscow many astrologers are now doing Astro*Carto*Graphy and locational astrology for
themselves and clients.

My thoughts are with Gala, family and everyone involved with the School of Classical Astrology during this sad and difficult time.

AstroCartoGraphy Maps In The Mountain Astrologer Magazine

The Dec/Jan 2007 issue of "The Mountain Astrologer" magazine has articles where Astro*Carto*Graphy maps are used.

The first article is called "Scorpionic America in 2007" by Jim Shawvan. He examines a chart for the United States that is calculated for 15th November 1777 when the Articles of Confederation was passed by Congress. The author writes that transit Pluto is activating natal Neptune in this chart. He then examines where Neptune lines are located on an Astro*Carto*Graphy map drawn for this chart to find out which countries will be in the news during this Pluto transit.

The other article is about using Astro*Carto*Graphy with astrometerology. The title of this article is "Storm Warnings - Mapping Extreme Weather through May 2007" by Robin Pouncie. The author examines several Astro*Carto*Graphy maps that are calculated for dates when certain aspects are exact, and when there is an eclipse. Although this article is interesting to read it would have been very helpful when the exact data for these charts was listed. The reader could then draw the maps easily as not everyone has computer software that can calculate the time when an aspect is exact.

Solar Eclipse - 22nd September 2006

When I examined the Astro*Carto*Graphy map for the solar eclipse on 22nd September 2006 I saw that Mars MH and Pluto ASC are virtually exact in Rome, Italy. This could be an indication that a terrorist attack might take place in Italy between 22nd September 2006 and 19th March 2007 (date of the next solar eclipse). Another country that could be in the headlines during this period is Tunisia as the Mars and Pluto lines are very powerful there.

The terrorist attack in New York and Washington D.C. on September 2001 was indicated by Pluto IC and Mars IC on the lunar eclipse for 5th July 2001.

A series of terrorist attacks in Russia and the Beslan tragedy was shown by Pluto IC and Mars MH near to Moscow on the solar eclipse for 19th April 2004.

In May 2004 I predicted that this map showed a strong indication of a terrorist attack taking place in Russia within six months of this date. The most likely time would be after the New Moon on 31st July 2004 as ten planetary lines were within eight degrees orb of Moscow.

Astrologers in Russia were amazed terrorist attacks started in August 2004. When I lectured at an astrological conference in Moscow, September 2004, I was asked to explain how I arrived at this prediction.

Two Articles On AstroCartoGraphy In "The Mountain Astrologer" Magazine

There are two articles on Astro*Carto*Graphy in the Oct/Nov 2006 issue of "The Mountain Astrologer" magazine.

The first article is called "How To Study Relocation" by Donna Cunningham. The article explains how the planetary lines change when there is a half-hour difference in the birth time, featuring three maps to show how the Sun MH and Saturn MH lines have moved to different locations. The article also features a comprehensive list of Relocation Bibliography and Resources. Listed are 18 books that have been written on relocational astrology and where to obtain them.

The second article is called "The Uses Of Astromapping In Astrology" by Martin Davis. This article features examples of using A*C*G and Local Space lines on the same map which is possible with the Solar Maps program. Where an A*C*G and Local Space line cross is known as a "bi-paran" or "destiny crossing". The article also features Cyclo*Carto*Graphy, the A*C*G relationship chart map and rectification with A*C*G.

AstroCartoGraphy Survey

American astrologer, Elliott Tanzer, is conducting a survey on Astro*Carto*Graphy to find out how astrologers are using this relocational technique and what other systems are considered when examining the planetary influences at locations.

Every astrologer who uses Astro*Carto*Graphy for clients, friends and themselves is encouraged to complete this survey so that they can share their experiences with A*C*G and provide information about which other locational astrology techniques are used in their work.

Astrologers who complete the A*C*G survey will be keep informed about the latest developments in this area of astrology. This information will help astrologers to expand their knowledge about Astro*Carto*Graphy and learn what other techniques are working in locational astrology.

Bug In Horizons 1 0 10 Update

There is a new update available for Horizons and again I found a bug in it.

The solar arc directed A*C*G map is not calculated correctly. The ASC and DSC lines are solar arc directed, but the MH and IC lines are secondary progressions. It's not the first time that Horizons uses two different types of calculations for the solar arc directed A*C*G map as the same bug was reported to Matrix in February 2006. Although this bug was eventually corrected in an update it has now returned again.

It is my opinion that the Horizons program was released without it being properly beta-tested as it still has bugs after being available for eight months. What I don't like about updates for Horizons is that every time you have to download nearly 62 MB. That's no problem with DSL , but a nightmare if you use a dial-up connection. Also, there are no release notes for an update, so you have no idea what changes have been made to the program.

I have purchased various astrological software programs over the years and been pleased with the customer service provided. The exception is Matrix software where the customer service is appalling, especially where the Horizons program is concerned. Based on my experiences with Horizons it is not a program that I can recommend.

Upgrade ZET 8, Release 55

This afternoon I downloaded and installed the latest upgrade for ZET 8.

I was very pleased that there is now an option to select the style of A*C*G and C*C*G lines. Now it is possible to select lines that are dashed, dotted and solid with some thickness. You could have solid (A*C*G lines) and dotted (C*C*G lines) so that you can quickly see which lines are A*C*G and C*C*G.

This option is found under:

Settings - Astro*Carto*Graphy Settings - Color - Ascension and Culmination Lines

The top box is for A*C*G lines, and the lower box for C*C*G lines.

When you subscribe to "ZET News" you receive an e-mail every time a new upgrade is available and what changes have been made in this release.

The customer service that the programmer of ZET 8 provides is really outstanding as any questions or problems are quickly answered or resolved.

ACG and Local Space Mars Lines

In mundane astrology the chart for the president, prime minister, chancellor or leader is often used as a second chart for that country.

Since George W. Bush became president the United States has been involved in two wars, Afghanistan and Iraq. Jim Lewis wrote an article that US presidents are most likely to become involved in a war where the president has an A*C*G Mars lines.

According to Astrodatabank, the birth data for George W. Bush is:

Looking at the president's A*C*G map he has Mars MH passes through Afghanistan.

In fact, at the AFA conference in Las Vegas (July 2000) I did a lecture on A*C*G and mundane astrology. I said that if George W. Bush is elected as president the United States would most likely be involved in a war with Afghanistan. This was based on his A*C*G map.

George W. Bush has no Mars line passing through Iraq, so why did the United States become involved in a war with this country? Using local space astrology, the president has a mars lines passing through Iraq.

I use both Astro*Carto*Graphy and local space maps when examining the planetary influences at locations. This example shows that local space Mars lines should also be considered in trying to find out where a president is likely to start a war.

Maps With ACG and CCG Lines

After I wrote about Pope Benedict XVI and C*C*G many astrologers have asked me which astrological software was used for the map.

Although I use Solar Maps for astrolocality it is not possible to draw a map with both A*C*G and C*C*G lines. As far as I know there are only three computer programs that can do this, and the one I recommend is called ZET 8 Geo.

With ZET 8 Geo I use black for A*C*G lines, and red for C*C*G lines, so that I can see instantly which are permanent and temporary influences. It is also possible to animate the C*C*G lines drawn on an A*C*G map. This makes it very easy to see when a C*C*G line will be conjunct an A*C*G line, and when a C*C*G line crosses an A*C*G line at the equator.

The quality of the map used with ZET 8 Geo is excellent. It is also possible to draw local space lines for natal, progressions and transits. The program is usually updated every week, and the customer service is outstanding.

ZET 8 Geo is available at www.zaytsev.com and very reasonably priced. Although the program is produced in the Ukraine there is no problem with receiving it as everything is downloaded and activated by e-mail.

Pope Benedict XVI and CCG

Why was Josef Razinger elected Pope in year 2005?

The birth data for Pope Benedict XVI is:

He was elected Pope on 19th April 2005 at about 5.50 PM local time at the Vatican.

Looking at his A*C*G map he has JU ASC near to Rome which is appropriate for being a Pope. On the day he was elected Pope he had C*C*G PL MH within one degree orb of Rome. This indicated his life would be completely transformed during the time that this temporary influence was at Rome. Becoming Pope at age 78 could be considered as happening against the odds which is one of the meanings for a combination of A*C*G JU ASC and C*C*G PL MH.

The following map for Pope Benedict shows the A*C*G (black) and C*C*G (red) lines zoomed up on Italy.

Many astrologers do not use Cyclo*Carto*Graphy when examining the planetary influences at locations on an Astro*Carto*Graphy map. Cyclo*Carto*Graphy uses a combination of progressions and transits, and should always be considered in locational astrology.

Composite ACG Map

Matrix's new program called "Horizons" is able to calculate a composite A*C*G map. As it is the first astrology program that can calculate and draw this type of map I was very interested to find out if it is a new technique that can be used in synastry.

When I examined a composite A*C*G map something didn't look right about it, so I decided to take a closer look at this to try and find out why. It wasn't long before I realised that the composite A*C*G map was calculated according to which chart was entered first in the program. This means that there are two different composite A*C*G maps!!

To make this clearer I will use the composite A*C*G map for O.J. Simpson and Nicole Brown.

When O.J.'s chart is entered first, JU IC is close to Los Angeles, with PL ASC within orb. When Nicole's chart is entered first, there are no planetary lines within orb of Los Angeles.

1). O.J. & Nicole

2). Nicole & O.J.

I do not understand why Horizons calculates TWO composite A*C*G maps for ONE composite chart.

An A*C*G map cannot be drawn from a composite chart as it is calculated using midpoints. The only way to achieve this is by calculating the midpoints between planetary lines on two individual A*C*G maps. The midpoint between the two SU MH lines gives the composite SU MH line. This is repeated for the other 39 planetary lines.

O.J. SU MH line = 60 W 45, Nicole SU MH line = 164 E 07.
The midpoint between these two lines is 51 E 41.
60 45 + 164 07 = 224 52 / 2 = 112 26
164 E 07 - 112 26 = 51 E 41

O.J. MO MH line = 170 W 56, Nicole MO MH line = 60 W 30.
The midpoint between these lines is 115 W 43.
170 56 - 60 30 = 110 26 / 2 = 55 13
60 W 30 + 55 13 = 115 W 43

This is repeated for the other MH and IC lines.

The calculation for the composite ASC and DSC lines is more complex because declination needs to be taken into consideration. Especially when the two charts have a planet with north and south declination, i.e. person A has SU ASC north declination and person B has SU ASC south declination.

Although the calculations for a composite A*C*G map are very difficult, especially the ASC and DSC lines, it shouldn't be a big problem as computer technology is much more advanced than it was many years ago.

I recommend that the Horizons composite A*C*G map not be used as it gives the wrong information. For years I've been using the relationship/Davison A*C*G map as it is based on a real date, time and place of birth.

Recommended Software For Astrolocality

A question that I am often asked is what software do I use for Astro*Carto*Graphy and other astrolocality techniques.

I use Solar Maps and Solar Fire together so that I can calculate the following maps:

1. Relationship chart A*C*G map
2. A*C*G Solar Return map
3. Johndro A*C*G map
4. Geodetic A*C*G map

Solar Maps is a very easy program to use and highly recommended for Astro*Carto*Graphy and local space maps. Many Russian speaking astrologers have ordered Solar Maps from me and experienced no problems with the program, even though many have no knowledge of the English language!

Solar Fire is also very easy to use, and it is the program I work with when calculating and examining charts. Once a chart is calculated with Solar Fire it just needs one click on the globe icon to start Solar Maps and see the A*C*G map.

House Systems - Natal And Relocated Charts

I've just read a very interesting article on "Charts in the North Temperate Zone" by Gary Noel which was published in "Today's Astrologer", Volume 68 Number 3.

Most astrologers know that house systems like Placidus and Koch break down when a chart is calculated for a location near or above the Arctic Circle. In his article Gary Noel wrote that he prefers the Alcabitius house system because it doesn't exclude anybody. This house system works for any place on the globe, including anywhere above the Arctic and below the Antarctic Circles.

Although I've always used Placidus houses I was somewhat concerned that they sometimes fall apart when calculated for locations with a high latitude. I will now take a closer look at the Alcabitius house system and see how it works out.
